In the time mode, press and hold the bottom left pusher. Then use the Nixon button to cycle through the different options until you get to Beep. Then use the right pushers to toggle it from On to Off. All set!
Yes, you will program your tide/beach location using Basic Tide mode if it is not one of the ones pre-programmed. Just know that Basic tide is a simplified way of predicting tides. As moon phases change and the earth tilts, the tides change differently. Basic tide relies on averages and therefore over time it will need to be recalibrated and should never be relied on for navigation or serious maritime activities.
